About the role

Leapit is looking for a Senior Software Engineering Consultant for demanding client assignments across industries and technical environments. You combine deep engineering expertise with strong consulting skills, adapt quickly to new contexts and take ownership from discovery through stable production delivery.

Assignments may cover backend systems, cloud platforms, integrations, architecture and modern development practices. You work closely with client stakeholders and engineering teams, and use AI-assisted development methods where they improve quality, speed and maintainability.

Key responsibilities

Lead the design, development and maintenance of secure, scalable software solutions for different clients.

Translate business needs and technical constraints into practical architecture and delivery plans.

Build backend services, APIs and integrations using suitable languages, frameworks and platforms.

Use cloud services across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or comparable platforms when relevant.

Apply AI-assisted development tools for analysis, implementation, testing, review and documentation.

Design or integrate LLM-based features, tool calling, agentic workflows and MCP-based interfaces when appropriate.

Establish reliable engineering practices for CI/CD, infrastructure as code, testing and observability.

Review generated and human-written code for correctness, security, maintainability and licensing risks.

Guide technical decisions, conduct code reviews and mentor engineers across client teams.

Communicate risks, trade-offs and progress clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required experience

At least 10 years of documented professional software development experience.

Recent hands-on experience delivering production software in senior engineering or technical lead roles.

Broad backend expertise in one or more modern languages, frameworks and data technologies.

Strong knowledge of architecture, distributed systems, secure APIs, integrations and production operations.

Practical experience with a major cloud platform and modern DevOps practices.

Hands-on use of AI coding assistants, including context management, verification and secure usage.

Working knowledge of LLM integrations, tool calling, agentic workflows, MCP or comparable open protocols.

Strong consulting and communication skills in English. Swedish is an advantage.

Additional qualifications

Experience building AI-enabled products, internal developer tools or automation platforms.

Knowledge of RAG, model evaluation, guardrails, prompt design and AI observability.

Experience with identity, access management, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect or security-sensitive systems.

Experience from regulated, international or business-critical environments.

Experience with frontend development, data platforms or multiple cloud ecosystems.

You act as a trusted technical advisor while remaining hands-on. You handle ambiguity, challenge weak assumptions and make sound trade-offs. You use AI tools critically, protect client information and remain accountable for every delivered result.
